Paramount Tennis Club adds scheduled open play and beginner clinics, and The Courts of York in nearby York Township provides reservable indoor courts and leagues.

Where Medina Players Get on Court

  • A.I. Root Middle School
    333 W. Sturbridge Drive, Medina, OH 44256
Six outdoor pickleball courts were built here through a partnership between Medina City Schools and the City of Medina. The courts are available for public use without reservations. School physical education classes and other school activities have priority during the school day, so daytime access can be limited when school is in session. These are public courts rather than a guaranteed organized drop-in session, so a player arriving alone should not assume a rotation will be running. A.I. Root court information
  • Medina Community Recreation Center
855 Weymouth Road, Medina, OH 44256
The recreation center is an important indoor pickleball location in Medina. Pickleball uses the Field House, and court availability changes around Medina City Schools classes, recreation programs, and rentals. Nonmembers can enter with a daily pass and photo ID. Instead of relying on an old recurring schedule, use the recreation center's live calendar for the current Field House availability. See current schedules and calendars.
  • Paramount Tennis Club
5041 Paramount Blvd, Medina, OH 44256
Paramount has eight indoor pickleball courts and a full schedule of pickleball programming. Nonmembers can participate in open play, clinics, Learn to Play sessions, and lessons for a fee. Current open pickleball sessions include Tuesday mornings, Tuesday evenings, and Saturday evenings. Court time can also be reserved. See Medina pickleball programs and schedules.
  • The Courts of York - nearby in York Township
6440 Norwalk Road, Suite N, Medina, OH 44256
The Courts of York opened in late 2025 with three climate controlled indoor pickleball courts. Court time is reserved in advance instead of operating as regular drop-in open play. There is no required membership fee, and the facility also runs leagues. This is useful for Medina area players who want guaranteed indoor court time with their own group. Reserve a court or see facility information.

New to Pickleball in Medina?

Brand-new players should start at Paramount Tennis Club. Its Learn to Play program is designed for adults who are new or returning to pickleball, with instruction in strokes, serving, returning, positioning, and game strategy. Paramount also runs recurring beginner clinics on Monday and Thursday mornings. Nonmembers can register, so you do not need to join the club before learning the game. Open Play, Clinics and Leagues

For scheduled open play, Paramount Tennis Club is the clearest option in the Medina area. Its current weekly schedule includes open pickleball Tuesdays from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., plus Saturdays from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Nonmembers can participate for a drop-in fee. The club also offers beginner and intermediate clinics, private instruction, junior programming, socials, and tournaments.

The Courts of York adds organized league play and reservable indoor courts. It uses a reservation model rather than a standing paddle rotation, so it works especially well when you already have other players. See court reservations and current events.

The Medina Pickleball Association helps connect the local playing community and has supported public pickleball development in Medina. Association information and local updates are useful for Medina specific organized activity.

In Medina and Looking for a Game?

If you are traveling alone, start with a scheduled open pickleball session at Paramount Tennis Club. Nonmembers are allowed to participate, and the Tuesday and Saturday open play sessions give you a practical way to join other players without bringing three partners.

Medina Community Recreation Center is another option for indoor play, especially when the current Field House calendar includes pickleball. A daily pass is available to nonmembers. Check the current recreation center calendar before choosing a session.

If you already have partners and want to play outdoors, use the six courts at A.I. Root Middle School. For guaranteed indoor court time with your own group, reserve a court at The Courts of York. A.I. Root should not be treated as a guaranteed solo-player rotation because public court access and organized open play are not the same thing.
